The Glimmer Twins - "A Tribute To Rolling Stones "

Saturday, March 18, 9:00pm

The Rolling Stones have long been hailed as The Greatest Rock-n-Roll Band in the World. But before they became the corporate machine that they are sometimes referred to as today, they earned this title by wowing audiences worldwide with some of the most electrifying performances in the history of rock-n-roll.  Beginning with the recording of the classic album ‘Beggar’s Banquet’ in the late 60’s, the Rolling Stones would enter into what is widely considered to be their most creative period that would continue right up through the release of the album ‘Exile On Main St.’ You will be amazed at the way The Glimmer Twins are able to recreate the look and feel of The Rolling Stones during this period and beyond.
The Rolling Stones single handedly changed the way rock concerts were presented to large audiences when they kicked off their ’69 U.S. Tour which is thoroughly documented in the movie ‘Gimme Shelter’.  By combining the raw energy of the band with the more sophisticated amplification systems for the times, The Stones were able to connect with their mass audiences in sold-out arenas on a whole new level.  The Glimmer Twins will give you a close-up view and feeling of what it was like to be in the audience at one of these historical performances.

Ace Aceto's Royal Flush Comedy

Ace Aceto's Royal Flush Comedy

Saturday, April 1, 9:00pm

Ace Aceto’s Royal Flush Comedy Show is a fast moving, talent-packed show that brings tons of laughs a minute! This very special show brings together 2 of New England’s favorite headlining comics, joined by one of New England’s favorite featured acts, and a new fresh face of comedy, all hosted by the charismatic, audience engaging, R.I. Comedy Hall of Famer, Ace Aceto! You’re guaranteed to be dealt a winning hand every time!
The Ace – Ace Aceto
Growing up in an Italian/Catholic household and going to Catholic school as a kid has made Ace Aceto what he is today…inquisitive and irreverent!
Ace burst onto the comedy scene during the latter part of the stand-up comedy boom in 1989. His first time on stage he immediately caught attention by placing second in a local comedy contest. By 1990, Ace was chosen along with 9 other finalists to be filmed for Stand-Up Stand-Up and Short Attention Span Theater for Comedy Central (then known as The Comedy Channel).
A Rhode Island native, Ace worked clubs, colleges, and corporate dates up and down the east coast, before working on stage as Demetrius in Shakespeare’s “A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream”. In 1998 he completed his first starring film role, in the independent feature film “BoxedMan”, capturing attention from casting agents from Disney-Touchstone as well as 20th Century Fox.
With his instantly likable stage presence, and ability to walk the line between innocent boy-next-door and biting edge comic, Ace takes his audiences on a hysterical ride, performing dead on impressions of Casey Kasem, Gilbert Gottfried, Bobcat Goldthwait, and Peter & Stewie Griffin. Throughout his shows, you never know what will come out of his mouth next, as he plows through hot topics like religion & dating, saying what most folks think, but are afraid to say.
Ace has worked with such comic luminaries as Jeff Dunham, Jim Breuer, Jim Gaffigan, Brian Regan, Kevin Meany, Jon Stewart, Dom Irerra, and Lewis Black (just to name a few). Ace has also opened for such acts as Huey Lewis & The News, Luther Vandross, and David Cassidy.
Ace continues to be an audience favorite, headlining such clubs as Catch a Rising Star, The Comedy Factory, Joker’s Wild, and Newport Grand Casino. In 2016, Ace was inducted into the Rhode Island Comedy Hall of Fame, joining the likes of Charlie Hall, Frank O’Donnell, and Tom Cotter.

The Joker – Kristine Blinn
Hailing from Springfield, MA, Kristine Blinn has had a wide array of careers as a writer and a broadcaster. She’s been performing comedy around New England and New York for three years now and brings her unique perspective on life thanks to her latest day job as a high school teacher. Most recently she’s performed at the Comedy Scene at Patriot’s Place, the Funny Bone in Hartford and Albany, and Broadway Comedy Club in New York City.
The Jack – Dale Cover
Comedian Dale Cover began to actively pursue stand-up comedy in 2013 but there were a few tell tale signs much earlier on that could have foretold his future as a stand-up comic. In middle school, Dale had his first taste of stand-up when he paired up with his buddy to tell jokes in a school talent show. It’s a very vague memory of which he can only remember the donning of big colorful bow ties and cracking knock knock jokes. In 2010, Dale and his wife of 10 years at the time threw an anniversary party where he gave a toast visiting each table personally and roasting his family and friends.

Shortly after, Dale’s uncle had passed and he wanted strongly to speak on behalf of his beloved uncle. Dale remembers his uncle saying that there should be no crying at his funeral proceedings but rather everyone should celebrate the life that he did have. In a brave attempt to fulfill his uncles request, Dale addressed the crowd with observations celebrating the very nuances of his uncles character that everyone had come to know and love. Though it was a risk, it proved to be the right choice as the somber faces in the crowd, for that moment at least, began to smile, then laugh loosely and and eventually heartily through the pain and enjoy the “breath of fresh air.”

This was a defining moment for Dale for it was at this time that he knew that with a lot of hard work, and attention to detail, he had the ability to use comedy as a platform to affect the lives of others in a big way. Since then, Dales has entertained crowds throughout New England. Dales approach to comedy is to entertain and create an environment whereby everyone can unwind, take a break from every day life and enjoy the moment. His comedy style reflects that of the every day family man; working hard, raising a family and trying to navigate this sometimes crazy world.

Born in New York City and raised in Providence Rhode Island, Dale has been married for over 16 years, is raising two boys and easily makes people laugh with hilarious anecdotes about family, colleagues, and keen observations. Dale prides himself on delivering a comedy style that’s accessible to a wide audience reflecting the experiences of the every day man.

The Queen – Mary Ellen Rinaldi
When she began her career, Mary Ellen Rinaldi took the stage as a stand-up comic performing in comedy clubs throughout Boston and New England. Two decades later, Mary Ellen has transformed into a well-respected and broadly successful performer, inspiring large crowds from budding company employees to powerful executives. A distinct combination of insight and comedy, Mary Ellen can light up a room with her warm heart and quick wit.
Throughout the years, Mary Ellen has blossomed from a clever comedian to an inspiration leader. Though her message has changed, she has never let go of the uplifting sense of humor and unique story telling abilities she started her stand up comedy career with.
Today, she engages audiences everywhere with her warmth, wit and wisdom. Her themes of perseverance, resilience and the importance of finding life’s balance are clearly portrayed through her multiple, customized programs delivering “Life Lessons Through Laughter”. Mary Ellen Rinaldi is proud to have been able to use her intelligence and humor to make a difference. Not only is she a member of the National Speakers Association, but she had the unique opportunity to present her inspirational keynote at the renowned Power Within Conference, taking the stage moments before former US President Mr. Bill Clinton. Her successes don’t stop there, however, as her client list includes well-respected organizations including the American Heart Association, WIC, The Department of Children and Families, DARE, and many more. She’s a natural asset at helping organizations to celebrate their employees, improve morale, build relationships and engender mountains of motivation. Mary Ellen has a gift that not many do. She possesses the unique ability to address a universal audience with an honest, relatable approach. She’ll make her audiences laugh, cry, and always acknowledge… “Wow… that’s so true!” Her message is simple, but her delivery prevails. She has an astounding way of making an audience think, feel, and understand… all while trying to hold back bouts of uncontrollable laughter.

The King – Mike McCarthy
The History of the Comedy Barbarian. In 1987 At the age of nineteen, Mike McCarthy first took the stage at Boston’s legendary Comedy Connection. Within a year he had won the WBRU Funniest man in Rhode Island contest and shortly thereafter was chosen to appear on the Showtime Comedy Club network.
Touring up and down the east coast from Montreal to the Bahamas, Michael worked on honing his craft to razor sharp perfection. His explosive brand of humor and frenetic pace quickly earned him a reputation as a crowd slayer, and the colorful alias he still carries today The Comedy Barbarian.
On stage Mike pushes the envelope every night with material that covers weird sex, to drug and alcohol abuse. His raucous no holds barred act never fails to get the crowd fired up. With over twenty-five years of experience under his belt, and now at the height of his comedic powers, Michael hits the stage like a titan and does not relent until the entire audience is under his spell laughing at things they never thought they would. Some comics make you laugh, Mike McCarthy will make you laugh till you cry. Don’t miss this high energy, balls to the walls comedy experience….. JUST REMEMBER TO FASTEN YOUR SEATBELTS!!!!!!!
