The Driftwoods - Beach Boys Tribute

THE DRIFTWOODS “Still Riding the Wave of A Lifetime”
RI’s Rock ’n’ Roll scene has roots. The first big wave took place early 1964 when that
1st group of young musicians strapped on guitars, plugged in keyboards with mopped
head drummers banging out a driving backbeat. Commonly called ‘garage bands’, many
at that time in this area actually had their beginnings in basements. These guys were
there then and they broke out big. What set them apart from the rest was their 4 & 5
part vocal harmonies layered above those rock rhythms. From 1964-67 they ruled this
area music scene, winning eleven of fifteen ‘Battle of the Bands’. Highly sort after for
high school and college dances, radio station events and local tv appearances, they
also performed for the Newport ‘jet set’, opened for national acts and were considered
in 1965 for an appearance on the late night Johnny Carson Show. They set the musical
bar high and are still regarded today by musicians as well as the casual listener as
vocally unequaled and always a fan favorite. The Driftwoods, RI’s longest running active
rock act, are still going strong adding new fans with each new performance. In 2013 The
Driftwoods teamed up with famous NY record producer Alan Lorber who’s long list of
credits includes The Luvin Spoonul, Jackie Wilson, Neil Sedaka, and Orpheus. Lorber
has done post production on the group’s new CD Bamboo Bedroom, releasing the
recordings on two new CDs as part of his Iris Music Group label. The releases
chronicles the group long history and it’s musical journey living out their dream. The two
CDs ‘Wave Of A Lifetime’ and ‘Something About Us’ are available for purchase on
the Iris Music Group Web site, Amazon, Itunes and other digital music web sites. The
groups busy 2015 schedule includes concert series, fairs & festivals, casinos and
corporate & private events from Maine to Key West Florida.

Shot of Poison

Saturday, January 27, 9:00pm

Shot of Poison is a group of talented, veteran musicians who have created a top-shelf, authentic tribute to the 30th anniversary of Poison, the phenomenal, fun-loving, Los Angeles-based glam rockers who burst onto MTV in 1987 and put the term “glam rock” back into the national lexicon. Since then, Poison have sold over 50 million records worldwide and become legendary for their energetic live shows.

At a Shot of Poison performance, expect a party atmosphere, a greeting at the door from the Party Time Crew, great lighting, video, stage props, special effects, and a theatrical, high-fidelityperformance of Poison classics with energy to spare.

Poison owes its continuing popularity, in part, to lead vocalist Bret Michaels, who became a pop-culture icon for a second time in the 2000s with several of his own reality TV series on VH1, plus NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice, a solo recording career, appearances on numerous talk shows, even a spot on American Idol. “Poison” has thus remained a household name for thirty years, with Bret Michaelsknown to most Americans between the ages of 25 and 60.

Shot of Poison’s members have amazing rock & roll credits, know their stuff, and promise to bring a full-on party with every show, full of the fun atmosphere of Poison’s rowdy arena-rock events, with the music done right, and the imagery that so many have grown up with and loved.

Ace Aceto's Royal Flush Comedy Show

Ace Aceto's Royal Flush Comedy Show

Saturday, February 3, 9:00pm

ACE ACETO’S ROYAL FLUSH COMEDY SHOW

Ace Aceto’s Royal Flush Comedy Show is a fast moving, talent-packed show that brings tons of laughs a minute!  This very special show brings together 2 of New England’s favorite headlining comics, joined by one of New England’s favorite featured acts, and a new fresh face of comedy, all hosted by the charismatic, audience engaging, R.I. Comedy Hall of Famer, Ace Aceto!  You’re guaranteed to be deafclt a winning hand every time!

The Ace – Ace Aceto

Growing up in an Italian/Catholic household and going to Catholic school as a kid has made Ace Aceto what he is today…inquisitive and irreverent!

Ace burst onto the comedy scene during the latter part of the stand-up comedy boom in 1989.  His first time on stage he immediately caught attention by placing second in a local comedy contest.  By 1990, Ace was chosen along with 9 other finalists to be filmed for Stand-Up Stand-Up and Short Attention Span Theater for Comedy Central (then known as The Comedy Channel).

A Rhode Island native, Ace worked clubs, colleges, and corporate dates up and down the east coast, before working on stage as Demetrius in Shakespeare’s “A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream”.  In 1998 he completed his first starring film role, in the independent feature film “BoxedMan”, capturing attention from casting agents from Disney-Touchstone as well as 20th Century Fox.

With his instantly likable stage presence, and ability to walk the line between innocent boy-next-door and biting edge comic, Ace takes his audiences on a hysterical ride, performing dead on impressions of Casey Kasem, Gilbert Gottfried, Bobcat Goldthwait, and Peter & Stewie Griffin.  Throughout his shows, you never know what will come out of his mouth next, as he plows through hot topics like religion & dating, saying what most folks think, but are afraid to say.

Ace has worked with such comic luminaries as Jeff Dunham, Jim Breuer, Jim Gaffigan, Brian Regan, Kevin Meany, Jon Stewart, Dom Irerra, and Lewis Black (just to name a few).  Ace has also opened for such acts as Huey Lewis & The News, Luther Vandross, and David Cassidy.

Ace continues to be an audience favorite, headlining such clubs as Catch a Rising Star, The Comedy Factory, Joker’s Wild, and Newport Grand Casino.  In 2016, Ace was inducted into the Rhode Island Comedy Hall of Fame, joining the likes of Charlie Hall, Frank O’Donnell, and Tom Cotter.

The Joker – Chris D

Chris Dimitrakopoulos (Chris D) entertains audiences with his blend of jokes about his quirky, Greek father and his unique perspective on the world around him. Chris D is a rising star in the Boston stand-up comedy scene who was recently voted as Boston’s second best young comedian by the Boston Comedy Scene Examiner.

The Jack – Adrian Morse

Adrian Morse: A comic guaranteed to make you laugh because he is too stubborn to take no for an answer! As soon as you think you have him figured out, you will notice there is an undertone of mystery about him which will have you engaged and leave you wanting more. If Adrian lost his ability to make people laugh, there is no doubt he would be hospitalized with his trauma from past relationships and crippling depression. But even in the hospital, he would be sure to piss off the staff and keep the other patients entertained with his witty and sarcastic humor. Adrian’s biggest inspiration is no one other than himself because he is that self-centered, but is nice enough to share himself with others and his audience in which he loves. Oh, and George Carlin, obviously!

Because Adrian repeats the same mistakes over and over, especially with women, he brings a new meaning to the saying “nice guys finish last”. Now in his 30s, Adrian is figuring out who he is and isn’t afraid to overanalyze every aspect of it. Adrian has performed in comedy clubs and bars, despite whether or not it’s comedy night, all across New England and New York. His view on relatable dating experiences and everyday life will have you in tears…but good tears… from laughing…because he’s that hilarious…and awesome. He is also awkward, just like the end of this bio.

The Queen – Jessica Casciano

With her petitte stature Jessica is sure to take audiences to all new comic heights. When it comes to making people laugh – Jessica measures up! Don’t be fooled by her petite stature this gal delivers BIG laughs! Her energy and strong prescence are sure to lift audiences to all new comic heights. Jessica was a semifinalist in the Boston Comedy Festival, Sam Adams Light Contest, and was chosen to be showcased by Marshall ‘s “Women In Comedy”. She was also show cased as one of Mix 98.5’s Funniest People in New England and won WFNX’s Yuks 4 Buks Contest – this win landed her a position as Resident Funny Lady on WFNX and you can hear weekly. If you’re looking for an evening of fun you MUST see Jessica! Leave your worries at the door and the laughs to her!!!

The King – Mark Riley

Mark Riley is one of the top headlining acts in the Boston comedy scene. His unique perspective on everyday situations combined with his sharp observational humor keeps audiences in stitches. His ability to improve is second to none and is fearless when it comes to hecklers or anyone who thinks they can be funnier than the comedian. Mark can perform anywhere and for any audience and deliver a great show.

Mark is able to connect with audiences in a unique way. Many people have said they felt like they were sitting in their living room hanging out with one of their friends when they see him perform. People love the way he can incorporate them into his show with ease and can adapt to any situation that may arise. Mark’s diverse background of experiences and employment allow him to relate to anyone, no matter what they do for a living or where they are from. He has three kids, all teenagers, so he relates to parents really well. One interesting fact is that Mark has been to 45 of the 50 states.

Mark developed many of his comedic and acting talents in various coliseums and “ice barns” throughout the country while he traveled as a professional ice hockey referee. Mark was an employee of the NHL for one whole week. Yeah, he was hired then fired one week later. It was at that moment Mark realized he belonged on stage rather than the ice. Mark still referees on occasion, but he now focuses his attention to coaching both boys and girls hockey where he gets plenty of material for his shows. He also ran a Gymboree Play and Music franchise for four years, along with cleaning houses, pallbearing at funerals, and a bunch of other jobs. Mark currently is a teacher. Yes a school teacher, but he’ll tell you about that in his act.

Mark has co-authored a movie script called Penalty Box, based on his life as a hockey referee. He is also in the process of publishing his first book, Not Every Kid Should Get A Trophy.

“Merchants of Cool” was an idea that came about in the spring of 2011 to guitarist Mike Silva. He was looking for another project that would entertain people, make them dance and give them a lot of good memories. With Foreigner’s vast array of hit songs, like “I Want to Know What Love Is,” “Feels Like The First Time,” “Hot Blooded,” “Cold As Ice” and more, it seemed like a great choice.

Chicago Total Access - "A Tribute to Chicago"

Saturday, March 31, 9:00pm

New England’s premier tribute to the band, Chicago.
This is a hi-energy, explosive show band dedicated to covering the band’s catalog that spans over 45 years. The audience will have “total access” to the music of Chicago. Chicago Total Access is a music group made up of 10 talented musicians which all grew up listening to American and British pop/rock, jazz, blues, rhythm and blues, Motown, acid rock and music from the 40’s, 50’s,60’s and 70’s as well as classical music from the ages. Our music is dedicated to the music of the American rock band “Chicago”. There is no other American rock n roll band with horns that has influenced more musicians, is loved by millions of people worldwide, and has become such a deep part of Americana as the band Chicago. Since 1967, 46 years of sold out concerts, millions of record sales and legions of cheering fans worldwide Chicago is still going strong in 2013. The members of Chicago Total Access have attempted to recreate a slice of the timeless musical catalog of Chicago as well as stay true to the spirit of the original recordings. We hope you enjoy our efforts! The liner notes of their first recording titled “The Chicago Transit Authority” still inspire us and I hope you as well. “The printed word can never aspire to document a truly musical experience, so if you must call them something, speak of the city where all save one were born; where all of them were schooled and bred, and where all of this incredible music went down barely noticed; call them CHICAGO.”
